Alistair Overeem, a Dutch mixed martial artist, has left an indelible mark on the world of combat sports. With a career spanning over two decades, Overeem has established himself as a formidable force in multiple weight divisions. Known for his exceptional striking skills, he possesses devastating knockout power in his fists and knees, making him a fearsome opponent inside the octagon. Overeem’s career has seen him compete in prominent organizations such as PRIDE FC, Strikeforce, and the UFC.

What sets Overeem apart is his versatility. He has seamlessly transitioned between weight classes, competing as a heavyweight and even as a light heavyweight earlier in his career. His physical transformation throughout the years has been remarkable, adapting his training and physique to maximize his performance. However, the combat sports legend may not be in the best of shapes at the moment.

Fans worried about Overeem’s health

Alistair Overeem, a former contender for the UFC heavyweight championship, who previously participated in the light heavyweight division for PRIDE FC, is presently undergoing a one-year suspension due to his failed drug test during the GLORY Collision 4 event. During this event, the fierce clash between “Demolition Man” and his long-standing kickboxing adversary Badr Hari took place.

The connection between his recent physical transformation and the suspension remains unclear, yet combat sports fans were surprised by Overeem’s noticeably diminished appearance. It’s remarkable to think that there was a period when the towering Dutchman possessed such a muscular physique that he struggled to execute a guillotine choke.

Following his technical knockout defeat to Alexander Volkov at UFC Vegas 18 in early 2021, 43-year-old Overeem was released from the UFC. Remarkably, the “Demolition Man” has endured a staggering 15 knockout losses in 19 professional defeats throughout his career, excluding his kickboxing endeavors.
