In an MLB match at Coors Field on Sunday, the San Diego Padres and Colorado Rockies square off. The first two games of this series were divided between the two teams. The offence made the difference as the Padres, who now have an overall record of 84-68, scored nine runs on Saturday to win. The Padres offence as a whole ranks 15th in the league with 4.34 runs scored per game this year. This season, Manny Machado has hit 30 home runs and 97 runs batted in. The offence in this game must be strong.

The pitching has had far too many days this season where it has been lit up, as seen by the Rockies’ 65-87 overall record. The Rockies’ offence is rated 14th in the league, but given that they are playing at Coors Field, that isn’t good enough. In baseball, the pitching has been the worst, allowing 5.35 runs per game. C.J. Cron has 101 RBIs and 29 home runs to his credit.

Mike Clevinger, who currently has a 6-7 record and an ERA of 4.23, is the Padres’ pitcher. His previous outing saw him go 5.2 innings while allowing only three hits and no runs. Kyle Freeland, who is now pitching for the Rockies and has a 9-10 record with a 4.38 ERA, is in the circle. He went six innings in his most recent start against San Francisco, giving up five hits and three runs.
