Heather Knight led England have registered a convincing win over Pakistan in the ongoing ODI World Cup at Hagley Oval in Christchurch on March 24. With this win, they have kept their hope alive to reach the semi-finals as well.

However, after the win, Heather Knight said: “Complete performance. Really pleased with how we have done today. Brunt had a tough tournament, but to see her comeback to her best was nice. She put a bit of work in her action yesterday. It was pretty green, the new ball was hard to play. Diana bowled so well. If we had batted first maybe we would have looked to get 270-280, but the plan was to bowl them out and chase it down. Hopefully we are starting to build some momentum. Big game for us against Bangladesh. Hopefully our run rate is good enough to take us into the semifinal.”

Bismah Maroof, after the match, said: “We should have batted 50 overs and put up a good score on the board. Bowling is our strength, we back ourselves to put any team under pressure with the ball, that is why we like to bowl first. Our batting approach has to be changed. We need to believe in ourselves. We do have hitters.”

Danielle Wyatt, who remained unbeaten after playing a fantastic knock and was awarded the ‘Player of the Match’ said: “Very happy to do it. Really pleased with the early finish as well. The bowlers did well. Shout to Brunt. Hopefully can get another win against Bangladesh. We saw the wicket and it looked like a green one in England. Won the toss and capitalised. It was quite a sensible innings from me. Wanted to get some time in the middle before the business end of the tournament.”
