Dilip Tirkey is a retired Indian men’s hockey player and an iconic figure in field hockey. Renowned for his amazing defense as a fullback and his expertise in penalty corners, Tirkey was a pillar of strength in the Indian team, often referred to as “The Wall of Indian Hockey”. Tirkey announced his retirement in 2010 as he left a legacy that includes being awarded the Player of the Tournament in the Premier Hockey League in 2007.

In politics, he has been an active voice in Parliament, known for raising a significant number of questions and advocating for the recognition of the legendary hockey player Dhyan Chand.
