Aakansha Gupta, a CA aspirant from Madhya Pradesh, was crowned the ultimate champion with 783.5 points in the National Fantasy Cricket Championship (NFCC) hosted on BalleBaazi.com. The event began with the goal of enhancing the fantasy sports landscape in India and ended on a high note. With only 1% of BalleBaazi.com’s user base made up of female participants, this achievement is one-of-a-kind. As the leader of the leaderboard, Aakansha will receive the winning prize pool as well as the opportunity to visit Lord’s Cricket Ground, the Mecca of Cricket.

The 23-day multi-tier tournament attracted over 1.8 lakh total entries from across the country and saw over 62 lakh teams formed during the tournament period, culminating in 11 fantasy cricket players from nine different states being crowned champions (Delhi, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand, West Bengal and Haryana).

Commenting on the success of the tournament, Mr. Saurabh Chopra, Co-Founder & CEO of BalleBaazi.com said, “NFCC has truly outdone our expectations and has set the standards for the upcoming editions of the tournament which is scheduled to be organized alongside IPL 2022. Though, this was the very first edition the tournament, it has certainly set the tone for changing the perception about fantasy sports from “just about money” to “all about glory”. Further, I would want to congratulate Aakansha and all other 10 winners on their achievement.”

All 11 winners will soon be introduced to BalleBaazi.com’s brand ambassador and World Cup 2011 hero, Zaheer Khan, as well as legendary batter, S. Badrinath. While Aakansha receives the ultimate prize, the ten other winners will each receive a golden bat as well as exclusive leaderboard cash prizes.

Talking about her victory and experience, Aakansha Gupta said, “NFCC was truly a unique experience for me. I have been indulging in fantasy sports since long but haven’t had the opportunity to compete in such a large-scale tournament where we felt that we are truly progressing in our own matchups as the tournament progresses. I would like to congratulate all the other winners and BalleBaazi.com for coming up with such a unique concept.”

On November 14,2021, the grand finale of the National Fantasy Cricket Championship took place on the same day as the final of the T20 World Cup. However, because of a tie for first place, the winner could not be determined on the same day. Aakansha finally won the third T20I between India and New Zealand by defeating Dayanidhi Sahoo of Gujarat in a tough tiebreaker. Both players participated in various fantasy cricket formats on BalleBaazi.com. Dayanidhi dominated the batting fantasy format, while Aakansha won the Classic, Reverse, and Innings Fantasy formats. It was a tie between the two Bowling fantasy champions.
