The fastest motorsport on the planet is thought to be F1. Only 20 people per year, out of the 775.28 billion people on Earth, are allowed to compete in the Formula One world championship. In other words, competing in the F1 championship is not an easy task. But over the course of the competition, some drivers have managed to control F1 cars in miserable rainy conditions. Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen are well-known to the new F1 followers. The two drivers are legends without a doubt, but we have seen drivers who are better at driving in the rain. The modern F1 fans must be familiar with those drivers’ names. After all, compared to modern F1 cars, automobiles back then were also less advanced.

Ayrton Senna from Brazil

Three-time Formula One world champion Senna passed away on the F1 track on May 1, 1994. He only had a 10-year career as a driver, but during that time, he defeated some of the greatest F1 racers, including Prost, Mansell, and Lauda. He did win three championships, which helped him gain fame, but more than that, his ability to control the F1 cars in wet conditions won him admiration.

Sir Jackie Stewart raced with a broken wrist

When it comes to driving in the rain, Senna has always been the greatest. However, Sir Jackie Stewart put up a series of incredible performances in dreadful wet conditions in the 1960s. In a race at the Nürburgring, Stewart actually began in sixth place with a fractured wrist and moved up to first place after one lap. He had a four-minute advantage over the other competitors when the race was over.

Lewis Hamilton is good, Verstappen has the potential

Other drivers have performed well in rainy conditions, including Jenson Button, Michael Schumacher, and Sebastian Vettel. However, Lewis Hamilton, who made his debut in 2008 and has consistently delivered stellar results on wet tracks, has been given the final and most recent position. He has won numerous races using wet slicks over the years. Last but not least, despite being very new, Verstappen has demonstrated his racing prowess in wet conditions a few times during intense downpour.
