In July, Vettel made the decision to end his illustrious 15-year career, which included stops at BMW Sauber, Toro Rosso, Red Bull, Ferrari, and Aston Martin. During this period, he won four world titles and established himself as one of the greatest drivers in the history of the sport. Vettel anticipates a change of pace and more time with his family, but Hamilton believes the 35-year-old will return to the series eventually. Before addressing Vettel directly in the Abu Dhabi press conference on Thursday, Hamilton remarked, “I was just sitting here thinking most drivers are coming back, like he’s coming back.”

You’re most likely returning. We can see more drivers turning around. So, I’m kind of accepting that even though this is your final race, you’ll return as I sit here. “We’ve noticed it from so many other drivers, Formula 1 has a way of drawing you back in,” said one racer. Vettel has left the door open for competing in other divisions, although he is eager to first take a break from motorsport. He said, “I think you naturally look at other things, I don’t know the solution yet.” “I initially look forward to the concept of nothing and then I wait to see how it affects me. Numerous other thoughts, hobbies, and concepts unrelated to racing are also present in my mind. “Yes, I have been doing this for a very long time, and it has a significant place in my life. It will therefore be tough for me to say that I won’t miss it, but how much and whether or not I start to think about something new will depend on how things turn out.

Opportunity

When asked if Vettel would be eager to return like he was in 2021, Fernando Alonso responded that the circumstances surrounding his own F1 retirement in 2018 were different. The driver who would replace Vettel at Aston Martin the next year, Alonso, commented, “I don’t know what his emotions are right now.” “However, even on the front wing in 2018, it said “See you later”; it wasn’t a good-bye. “In a sense, the 2021 regulations were always an opportunity for me to return. At that time, I was considering a variety of difficulties.
