The driver, who competes for the reputable McLaren team, is presently in his sixth F1 season. With the exception of McLaren, he has only been to one other team since joining Red Bull in the championship. He was with Renault for the 2019 and 2020 seasons, a time span during which he failed to win a single podium. However, over the years, the Australian has put together some really amazing races. In this article, we’ll review three of Daniel Ricciardo‘s most impressive F1 victories.

3. Monza GP 2021

After Jenson Button’s farewell victory in Brazil in 2012, Daniel Ricciardo’s astonishing McLaren one-two finish gave the team its first victory in the Italian Grand Prix. Although Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen’s collision gave the Australian an advantage, there is no denying that he deserved to win the race. Despite a challenging beginning with McLaren, the driver’s performance in Monza quieted doubters, and as he crossed the finish line, he quoted over the team radio: For anyone who thought i’d left, I never left.

2. Azerbaijan GP 2017

Chaos is a defining characteristic of Baku, and the 2017 Azerbaijan Grand Prix was no exception. Red Bull driver Daniel Ricciardo had a lacklustre qualifying performance; he started tenth on the grid and even slipped as low as seventeenth during the race. The collision between the two leaders of the race, Lewis Hamilton and Sebastian Vettel, on lap 17 brought out the safety car, which provided the Red Bull driver with an opportunity. He easily dispatched the drivers in front of him, winning the race and completing an odd podium with Lance Stroll’s Williams and Valtteri Bottas’ Mercedes.

1. Ricciardo at Monaco GP 2018

The 2018 Monaco Grand Prix was Daniel Ricciardo’s only victory from pole position, and it was also perhaps his most well-known victory of his career. Even though he was in first place, it wasn’t as simple as it could have seemed. On Lap 28, despite appearing to be in command of the race in his Red Bull, a component of his power unit broke, resulting in him losing a quarter of his engine’s performance as well as the ability to shift through a few gears. Additionally, his brakes quickly began to overheat as well. It appeared as though a victory would all but slip away from him, similar to in 2016, due to his reduced engine power and the odds being stacked against him. Nevertheless, he won the race by miraculously holding off Sebastian Vettel’s Ferrari. It undoubtedly qualifies as the Australian’s best victory of his Formula One career thus far, even with Vettel pushing him and all of his car problems.
