2022 F1 French Grand Prix: Schedule, Timings and Live Streaming details

In December 2016, it was confirmed that the French Grand Prix would return in 2018 at the Circuit Paul Ricard.

The French Grand Prix (French: Grand Prix de France), formerly known as the Grand Prix de l’ACF (Automobile Club de France), is an auto race held as part of the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) annual Formula One World Championship. It is one of the oldest motor races in the world as well as the first “Grand Prix”. It ceased shortly after its centenary in 2008 with 86 races having been held, due to unfavorable financial circumstances and venues. The race returned to the Formula One calendar in 2018 with Circuit Paul Ricard hosting the race.

The French Grand Prix was first held in 1894. Initially it was held at different public road circuits like Reims, Rouen and Charade. Formula One returned to Paul Ricard in 1973. Paul Ricard circuit also had a driving school, the École de Pilotage Winfield, run by the Knight brothers and Simon Delatour, that honed the talents of people such as France’s first and so far only Formula One World Champion Alain Prost. Later the circuit was deemed too dangerous for Formula One. In December 2016, it was confirmed that the French Grand Prix would return in 2018 at the Circuit Paul Ricard and it currently holds a contract to host the French Grand Prix until at least 2022.

Schedule

The Formula One French Grand Prix weekend starts on Friday July 22 with two practice sessions for the drivers FP1 starts at 17:30 pm IST and FP2 starts at 20:30 pm IST. The next day starts with free practice 3 at 16:30 pm IST and is followed by the qualifying. Sunday is the day for some high octane racing drama on the Circuit Paul Ricard as the race starts at 18:30 pm IST.
