Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, the sequel to the Batman: Arkham video game series from Rocksteady Studios, won’t be released on May 26 as originally planned, according to Bloomberg. Following a mutedly received gameplay reveal in February, Warner Bros. is reportedly delaying the game until later this year.

The four-player co-op that is essential to Kill the Justice League was highlighted in that reveal, which was presented during Sony’s State of Play showcase for the Suicide Squad game. In footage from Rocksteady’s eagerly anticipated game, the killers Harley Quinn, King Shark, Captain Boomerang, and Deadshot fought against Brainiac’s forces and the brainwashed Justice League members in a destroyed Metropolis. The co-op gameplay had elements of Anthem and Destiny 2 inserted into the Batman: Arkham setting. If you need more information about Why was the Suicide squad : Kill the justice league delayed? Jason Schreier of Bloomberg reports that Warner Bros. has postponed the game’s original May 26 release date. This follows criticism from fans of the gameplay featured in Sony’s most recent State of Play. But as Schreier pointed out, delays like this are more about polishing than they are about changing the gameplay features that fans didn’t like in the reveal last month.

According to Bloomberg, the information was provided by an unnamed source with first-hand knowledge of the situation. No new release date has been specified as of yet. Warner Bros. has been contacted by IGN for comment on this report. Suicide Squad will be a live-service game with a battle pass, an RPG-style gear system, and a necessary online connection, according to the State of Play’s extensive gameplay showcase. Even though it takes place in Rocksteady’s Arkhamverse, the game appears to be a significant departure from earlier Arkham titles.

The battle pass’s abundance of cosmetic items, “gear score” menus, and shoot-and-loot gameplay mechanics, however, seemed to deflate Rocksteady fans. Even when playing the game alone in single-player mode, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League will require an online connection, according to a Rocksteady and Warner Bros. FAQ published following the gameplay reveal.

Players will team up as Suicide Squad members Harley Quinn, Captain Boomerang, King Shark, and Deadshot in the upcoming game, which is only available on PC and next-generation consoles (PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S). The goal of the game is to kill the Justice League members who have turned rogue, as the title of the game suggests.
