The Plot of Viral Hit

You might not expect Hobin Yu, a scrawny high school student, to star in a fighting-themed NewTube channel. But after taking some advise from an anonymous YouTuber, Hobin starts knocking out opponents with more experience than him and making more money than he ever imagined. What happens if Hobin is unable to maintain this level of performance?

Recap of Episode 1

A young man named Yoo Ho-bin, played by Satoshi Niwa, is the victim of bullying. Every day, he faces hardship, suffering, and anguish. He has a hard time affording his mother’s cancer treatments when he isn’t enduring bullying from his peers. But maybe he’ll find a way out of his jam when one bully finally gets to him.

Establishing Yoobin’s complete pessimism is a primary goal of the first part of this episode. His fellow students treat the young man with the utmost contempt. He is never alone while his classmates are around, whether it’s being the punchline of jokes on NewTubu videos or being the target of an open assault amid class.

Working at a fast food joint after school is a strain for Yoo because his mother is undergoing chronic cancer treatment. He just gets by, while his violent peers make tens of thousands of yen from their recordings.
