London-based software developer Vertex has announced details about the opening ceremony to be held inside Vertex Stadium, a virtual esports stadium.As part of the event, the developer is partnering with the National Esports Professionals Association (NEPA) to host an Echo VR competition.Taking place on December 17-18, the event will see top Echo VR teams compete inside virtual stadiums, where fans will have the option to create avatars and watch matches with other fans. Founded in 2020, the company recently secured $3.2m (~£2.16m) in its latest funding round that closed in May. In November, Brazilian organization MIBR joined forces with metaverse firm EveryRealm to launch an esports arena where users can participate in events via Metaverse.
