The 2023 VCT Masters Tokyo has so far been an exhilarating ride for spectators, featuring several heroic plays, astounding strategies, and unusual team compositions. Two of Protocol’s agents were entirely cut off from the action, which was understandable given that VALORANT’s peculiar meta was used to its fullest in the event.

At the year’s second international competition, Reyna and Yoru, two of VALORANT’s most specialized duelists, were not selected by any of the 12 teams. According to vlr.gg, neither agent is currently being picked up at Masters Tokyo. If you need more information about VCT Masters Tokyo has noticed two VALORANT agents missing in the tournament, then read carefully, and don’t forget to share with your friends.

VCT Masters Tokyo has noticed two VALORANT agents missing in the tournament:

Although they have consistently ranked among the agents in professional VALORANT who receive the least attention, Reyna and Yoru weren’t exactly the favorites before. Despite being unpopular choices, Yoru has garnered a little bit more attention than Reyna in VCT 2023, even though both agents have been unpopular.

Natus Vincere’s Yoru was a well-liked choice in the VCT EMEA League, where he was mainly utilized by cNed on the Fracture, Lotus, and Bind maps. The Pacific League saw some of Yoru as well, but the Americas League saw no sign of him.

Reyna was selected by Paper Rex a few times in the Pacific League, and thanks to his precise mechanics, the team’s superstar something even managed to get the most out of her against DRX and Rex Regum Qeon. Talon Esports also selected her for one of their Pacific League matches against DRX. She was therefore ignored in the Americas and EMEA League.

It is clear why these two agents aren’t employed in professional plays. Yoru and Reyna both have advantages, but when you have access to duelists as powerful as Raze, Jett, and even Neon, they aren’t the best options. At Masters Tokyo, Jett and Raze are both currently among the top five agents in terms of pick rate.

Although Reyna is still one of the top “solo carry” agents on VALORANT’s list, the team benefits little from her self-centered skills. A Reyna cannot contribute anything other than aggressive frags. Yoru, on the other hand, excels in double-duelist team compositions despite possessing excellent duel-centric skills. He needs a lot of team cooperation and support. Simply put, teams prefer choosing a more independent duelist like Raze or Jett who can successfully take control of space while also keeping themselves safe.

Yoru has yet to reach Masters Tokyo despite being a great agent on maps like Bind and Lotus. He still has two tantalizing best-of-five series to play, so he might teleport into one of the ten Agent Select screens! Reyna might be chosen by Paper Rex to play against Evil Geniuses in the lower finals on June 22 or perhaps even in the grand finals if they advance. The Mexican soul harvester is not likely to be chosen by EG and Fnatic, but the tournament has been full of surprises so far, so why not?

Phoenix (duelist) and Chamber (sentinel), in addition to Reyna and Yoru, went unnoticed for the majority of Masters Tokyo until both agents made their first appearances on June 21 in the thrilling lower-bracket series pitting NRG Esports against Paper Rex. Things are about to get excitingly intense at VCT Masters with only three teams remaining from the 12-team starting roster. A spicy team composition with Yoru or Reyna could be the cherry on top.
