The highly anticipated television anime adaptation of the popular manga “The Masterful Cat Is Depressed Again Today” by Hitsuji Yamada is set to premiere on July 7. The show will air on MBS and TBS’ “Animeism” programming block on Thursdays.

The story revolves around Saku, a young woman who takes in a stray black cat named Yukichi. However, Yukichi is not an ordinary cat; he takes great pride in his culinary skills and helps Saku in the kitchen. With Yukichi’s help, Saku begins to get her life together and learns valuable life lessons along the way.

Susumu Kudo is credited as the chief director of the show, while Katsumasa Yokomine directs the series at GoHands. GoHands is also responsible for the series scripts, written by Tamazo Yanagi. Takayuki Uchida is the character designer for the show, known for his work on other series such as “Asa made Jugyō Chu!” and “Hand Shakers.”
