The International 2022 dota 2 event is one of the most notable esports tournaments in the world now and marks the end of Dota 2’s competitive season ever. The numbers may look bad when compared directly to the previous version, but context is important. The International 2022 only recorded around 200,000 viewers less than the 2019 edition. In this article we give you all information about the most third watch dota event ever.

Dota 2 International 2022 Third most Watch Event :

The most notable viewership was realized from Russian-speaking platforms, with Russia historically providing a large number of viewers for the Dota Pro circuit in general. Russian viewership fell from about 500,000 to 700,000 this year. While it is not quantifiable, it is likely that potential viewership may be affected by Russia’s ongoing invasion of Ukraine. Nevertheless, the English broadcast in 2022 recorded lower numbers than its 2021 edition.International 10 attracted 1 million viewers on its English stream, meanwhile, this year’s edition recorded nearly 740,000.

The international prize pool was also much smaller in 2022 than in 2021. The prize pool this year was around $18m (£15.5m), less than half of TI10’s $40m (£34,6m) prize pool. This reduction is due to changes in the Battle Pass mechanic that happened this year. Previously, battle passes were issued months before the tournament, and 25% of all sales went directly to the pool. This year, the pass was issued just a month back.Viewership is not the only valuable metric for tournament performance, especially due to the fact that Esports Chart does not monitor Chinese stream viewership due to the unreliability of its data.

Comparison With Other Tournament :

The International 2022 fell far behind the previous two tournaments in the series in terms of audience reach, and the International 2018 by key viewership metrics. Compared to The International 10, the most popular world championship in the history of the discipline, HW and PV numbers declined by 37%, while AV numbers declined by 34%.

A more detailed analysis of all metrics will be drawn up in the next article, but we can already say that the International 2022 was the first tournament in the series’ history when viewership was reduced. If you like this article then share with your friends.
