The GSG Esports India BGMI Majors Week 1 winner is Team SouL, with Ninja being named MVP

Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) has been absent continuously since July 2022, but this hasn’t stopped regional organizers from holding tournaments for the mobile battle royale. Following the announcement of the India BGMI Majors, which will feature some of the top teams from all over the nation playing for a total prize pool of INR 5,00,000 ($6,060 USD) split over three weeks, GSG Esports has generated a lot of buzzes. Team Soul became victorious in the first week of this competition after using their abilities to win 24 matches and accrue a total of 266 points. The GSG Esports India BGMI Majors Week 1 winner is Team SouL, with Ninja being named MVP.

India BGMI Majors, which is divided into three weeks, has reached the end of the first week (semifinals), with 24 of the 30 competing teams moving on to the second week (finals).

Team SouL emerged as the first-week victor among the qualifying teams, shifting gears in the final two days to earn the top spot on the overall points standings. The team finished with a total of 266 points after winning three games and accruing 104 placement points and 162 finishes. This enabled the team to win the competition by a mere 15 points over Reckoning Esports, who finished in second place.

Harsh “Goblin” Paudwal secured 44 frags throughout 24 matches for SouL, accounting for around 27% of all finishes obtained by his squad. This was a great example of the teamwork that the team displayed.

Shubham “NinjaJOD” Ranjan Sahoo put up a spectacular showing, earning MVP honors for the first week after registering a staggering 65 finishes in 24 matches, although it was far from his overwhelming display. Approximately 59% of TSM’s frags from 24 matches were made up of this, as Ninja annihilated teams at a startling pace of 2.7 finishes per map.

On the basis of the overall points table, the first week of the tournament offered a portion of the total prize pool:

• 1st | INR 70,000 – Team Soul

• 2nd | INR 40,000 – Reckoning Esports

• 3rd | INR 20,000 – Team INS

• 4th | INR 15,000 – 4Kinf Esports

• 5th | INR 10,000 – Team Psyche

• MVP | INR 25,000 – Ninja

The 24 surviving teams will be vying fiercely to advance to the competition’s final week, so it will be intriguing to see how the second week of the event plays out.
