We learn that Chise was sold off to one of the highest bidders at the auction and that this foolhardy Elias Ainsworth was the one who bought her. He also promised to take her on as his apprentice. We learn that Elias is a magician and that fairies and dragons inhabit his world, which is different from ours. Nevertheless, before Chise has a chance to adjust, the stupid man drops another major bombshell, revealing that Chise will not only not be his pupil but also Elias Ainsworth’s bride.
Later in the most recent episode, we see that Sensei tells Chise that he wants her to attend college, but when Elias turns to face him, he says that he thinks they’ve already talked about it. Chise responds that even though he mentioned that the college is a school for sorcerers and a mutual aid organization, she is not persuaded by this.
As Chise is a magician and not a Sleigh Beggy, Elias questions why she would go to a place with sorcerers and help groups. Sensei expresses regret if they feel this has come off as callous, but adds that they would need their assistance because she is a researcher and the chance is too good to miss. Sensei continues by saying that they would help them as much as they could and that if they wanted, the group could set up for her to attend courses with the other pupils.
