The servants of Demon Lord Clayman were grieving his death and trying to choose their next course of action in the premiere of the second episode of the third season of That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime. The focus shifted to Hinata Sakaguchi, a Japanese extraterrestrial who assumed command of the Knights of the Holy Empire under Lubelius.
In Season 2, we last saw Luminus Valentine at the Walpurgis, but now we learn from Hinata’s point of view that he is actually the head of a small vampire family that secretly runs the Holy Empire of Lubelius.
Diablo delivered Tempest’s ultimatum, and the show returned to the King of Falmuth and his counselors arguing about the best way to respond. The King correctly pointed out that they had few options, especially with the Storm Dragon Veldora free, even if many of his advisors were not fond of the idea of allying with Tempest and paying reparations to him.
Since he had no other choice, King Edward voluntarily abdicated, nominated his brother as his successor, and signed a peace treaty recognizing Tempest as a nation. The previews for the upcoming episodes of That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime are, however, extremely vague, usually just revealing the episode title.
Rimuru will probably send a priest to the Holy Empire of Lubelius in the upcoming episode to try to calm things down before they boil over into a full-scale war, according to the manga. Tempest will get a windfall when Diablo returns from Falmuth with the first installment of the reparations. At the same time, Hinata Sakaguchi will arrange a gathering of her Ten Saints to deliberate the best course of action in light of Veldora’s reappearance.
