Spy x Family Chapter 99 Summary 

In Spy X Family Chapter 99, The story picks up at Eden Academy’s graduation party, which gets disrupted by an air raid siren. Henry and Martha rush to the shelter but it turns out to be a false alarm. They decide to end the party and Henry asks Martha what she wanted to say earlier. Martha hesitates and just asks for a simple send-off. Later, she regrets not confessing her feelings and writes Henry a letter about her departure. However, the letter is censored by upper management and Henry never receives it.

Despite the heavy censorship, Martha keeps writing and they start exchanging letters regularly. But as the war worsens, her letters become less frequent. Henry is concerned about her, especially now that he knows that women are being deployed, including Martha. Henry is upset to know that Martha has chosen to fight on the front lines. 

During a debate at Eden Academy, Henry is distracted and thinking about Martha. He finally gets a letter from her where she expresses regret over her decision. Henry feels sad to hear that her unit has been lost when her letters stop coming. At a military enlistment campaign, Henry speaks out against the propaganda which leads to his arrest, he is labelled a traitor but returns to teaching after agreeing to conform.

As the war ends, Henry hopes for Martha’s return but she never arrives and his father arranges a marriage for him and Henry reluctantly agrees. At the end of the chapter, Martha is still alive and recovering in an isolated cabin by the sea.
