A player shared a clip of them successfully catching Miraidon in a Beast Ball after 11 hours of futile attempts in a thread on Reddit on July 22.

Beast Balls are the worst balls for catching anything that isn’t an Ultra Beast, even when compared to the 1x catch rate modifier of the standard Poké Ball. Yes, the chances of successfully capturing the Legendary Miraidon are extremely slim when you combine Beast Balls with its low capture rate. So why would someone subject themselves to that? Why not just utilize their Master Ball or an Ultra Ball? The reason for this is that Beast Balls give you another way to brag in addition to looking cool.

Catching non-Ultra Beasts in Beast Balls is somewhat akin to searching for specific marks or Shinies because of their exceptionally low catch rate. Beast Balls are also extremely uncommon in Scarlet and Violet, which adds to the anguish and suffering. By finishing the Pokédex and selecting it as your reward, you can only be certain to receive a Beast Ball. On top of that, you have to cross your fingers and win a random one by winning the Academy Ace Tournament.

Thus, you might only have one opportunity to use your Beast Ball to capture a Pokémon before having to restart the game. The player who was so committed to catching Miraidon in that cursed ball found himself in an unfortunate situation in this case.

As soon as you thought things couldn’t get any worse, the player made it clear that the laborious process wasn’t as straightforward as simply throwing the Beast Ball at Miraidon at the start of the battle before resetting. To increase their chances of winning, they needed to get rid of the Electric Terrain, reduce Miraidon’s HP, and put it to sleep.
