The chapter starts with a burning warehouse and a radio trying to contact headquarters but getting no response. Kanaguri watches the fire and is amazed at how far things have gone. Uzuki is still acting like Takamura, stands over some bodies and mutters.
Kanaguri remembers being skeptical about Takamura taking over Uzuki but now he’s convinced. Akira looks worried and Kanaguri asks if she’s okay, reminding her she doesn’t have to come. Akira insists she’s fine and thinks she must stop X, even if it seems impossible. Kanaguri explains that the current guy JAA, is the most terrifying killer in Shijou Murderers’ history and that today’s mission is to test performance.
Kumanomi tells X to wake up and mentions she’s surprised at how easy it is to control her power despite being hurt. Suddenly, Uzuki attacks Kumanomi and breaks her arm, surprising even Kanaguri. Kumanomi is crying and realizes Uzuki is out of control. Akira quickly steps in to protect her.
Kanaguri films the scene, excited by the dramatic footage. Kumanomi can’t understand why Uzuki attacked her and Akira explains it’s likely due to Takamura’s influence. They decide to run but Kumanomi lashes out at Akira, who is panicking. Kanaguri reminds Akira that she’s the main character and needs to find a solution.
As Uzuki attacks again, Akira remembers Rion destroying Takamura and realizes they are in serious trouble. Kumanomi, distraught, charges at Uzuki, who slaps her into a wall. Uzuki then addresses Akira, hinting at his uncontrollable nature.
The chapter ends with Akira questioning Uzuki and seeing X and Rion standing side by side.
Sakamoto stands outside his store lost in thought about Nagumo’s advice to stay away. They are now wanted criminals because they were wrongly accused of helping Slur’s terrorist attack and their old lives are gone. Sakamoto gets upset and tells Nagumo that he did warn him about the risks. Nagumo says Sakamoto has two options: either kill Slur to prove his innocence to the JAA or destroy the JAA completely, both choices are dangerous and could lead to his death.
As he walks, two men suddenly attack Sakamoto but he easily defeats them. He thinks about how he just wanted to have a peaceful life and accuses Akao of putting the bounty on him. Sakamoto needs to talk to Aoi, Sakamoto goes to hide in their store where he overhears Aoi talking about how the store is struggling with financial problems and wonders if she wants a divorce but Aoi Explains that killer and new competition is springing up that customers notice, and may be forced to close.
Sakamoto suggests they go somewhere safe but Aoi sticks to the memories made in the store. Together, they had previously converted an old house into a shop and created a place where Sakamoto felt at home. Determined not to give up on their hard work, Sakamoto decides to take drastic action. He decides to return to the hospital and take control of JAA, aiming to expand its stores into a nationwide chain.
As he makes this decision, the report suddenly reports a terrorist attack by Slur on the JAA weapons factory, and Slur appears on the roof in front of Takamura.
