Roblox fans were in for a scary surprise when Chucky the famous killer doll, made an unexpected visit in Xbox’s Partner Preview livestream. The fact that Chucky will be haunting Roblox through its newest update Griefville: Survive the Nightmare is even more spine-tingling. The trailer of this shocking crossover which shows Chucky chasing Roblox avatars and covering the virtual world in blood is sure to chill players to the bone.

The dark tale of Griefville is far more complex than Chucky so fans of Roblox can relax. A cast of well-known horror film villains has been alluded to by the platform who will feature in the expansion on a rotating basis. Though details about future characters are yet unknown it’s exciting to think that we might run into well-known characters from the history of horror films. With Universal Studios’ Chucky leading the way conjecture abounds on the other horror icons that might adorn Griefville’s digital terrain.
The bad guy M3GAN from the 2022 horror movie is one possible contender, especially with Universal’s intense marketing after the film’s box office triumph. Speaking enthusiastically about Chucky’s inclusion, Bill Kispert, SVP & GM of Games & Digital Platforms at Universal Products & Experiences hinted at Universal’s desire to look into other partnerships.
“The Chucky character reflects horror and it’s an honour to be part of this exciting experiment on the Roblox platform” commented Kispert. “Bringing the iconic malevolent doll to life in the game injects an unexpected twist into Griefville: Survive the Nightmare! amplifying the classic horror ambiance within the experience.”
“With Griefville: Survive the Nightmare!, our aim was to craft an adventure that taps into the collective nostalgia surrounding 80s and 90s horror for the seasoned Roblox audience,” added Auclair. “It’s not only about jump scares; it’s about capturing the atmosphere, the tension and the pure joy of losing yourself in a timeless horror story. We are excited to work with our prestigious partners to deliver Griefville to Roblox.”
Players will have the opportunity to assume the role of either Chucky or one of his unfortunate victims in this terrifying addition. Chucky will make his debut in Griefville: Survive the Horror! but his stay will only be brief. There is currently no word on when the Chucky content will officially expire.
The expansion, created by RocketRide Games is a nostalgic treat designed for older Roblox users promising an immersive experience that transports players back to the heyday of 80s and 90s horror.

Griefville: Survive the Nightmare! takes players on an adrenaline-fueled adventure through the annals of fear guaranteeing an unforgettable experience drenched in anticipation.
