Players on the Rift should anticipate adjustments to both the map and the goals. However, the modification that will apply to Mythic artifacts will be the biggest one.
League of Legends’ ranked gameplay will get a significant overhaul before the 2024 season, Riot Games said today. For one thing, the current rated season will continue to run throughout the entire year, with the customary “preseason” period of November and December being eliminated. Any significant adjustments to the game that would have been made during the preseason part of the ranked calendar will now be done in January, at the beginning of the next season.
If you need more information about Riot is implementing major changes to League of Legends’ ranked climb in 2024, including three splits, then read carefully, and don’t forget to share with your friends.
Additionally, instead of the current two ranked splits, players will have the chance to participate in three distinct splits throughout the course of the year. A “split” system was implemented this season, with the 2023 season featuring two distinct play periods. In that participants had to play through provisional games following a soft reset to their rank, these splits functioned similarly to how full-fledged season premieres in the past did.

Just like there were for entire seasons in years past, there are also incentives and Victorious skins towards the tail end of the splits. Players who accumulated enough “split points” to qualify for the skin this year received Victorious Anivia. From now on, players may anticipate three distinct ranked resets, each with ranked awards, spread out throughout the course of the season.
Players on the Rift should anticipate adjustments to both the map and the goals. However, the modification that will apply to Mythic artifacts will be the biggest one in League of Legends. Since they introduced additional (and exclusive) bonuses to Legendary items and created a tiered system of items, Mythic items have fundamentally changed players’ build paths over the past two years. Players are now even more forced to choose which items are best for particular circumstances than they were before. The Mythic item system as it now exists, however, will be eliminated in 2024.
In a developer update today, League of Legends executive producer Jeremy “Brightmoon” Lee, League game director Pu “Pupulasers” Liu, and League president Andrei “Meddler” van Roon provided a thorough preview of the updates. The 2024 season, which is anticipated to start in January of next year, will have additional information about these updates later in the year when it is closer to the start date.
