Fans quickly thought K/DA was getting ready to make a comeback in front of the forthcoming League of Legends World Championships in South Korea when a brand-new K/DA song suddenly appeared on the well-known music streaming service Spotify overnight. Unfortunately, it seems that those hopes have been dashed.
In association with the band Food House, a pair made up of artists Gupi and Fraxiom, “Ambiance” was included in K/DA’s new single releases on Spotify on August 11. Unfortunately for the band’s supporters, Riot Games has taken action to remove the incorrectly attributed song from Spotify, thus the release does not portend a revival of the League-based band. After doubting the release’s legitimacy, Dot Esports confirmed with Riot Games that the song was not released by Riot Games’ well-known virtual band. The shadow-drop of a new song under the K/DA moniker may have alluded to the band’s return to the stage.

Even though the musical teaser lasted less than two minutes, it was plenty to inspire hope in K/DA fans throughout the world for a new album by the end of the year. Nobody was sure if this was the beginning of a new K/DA period or just a bad imitation, though, because the tune lacked any well-known voices that the League community would immediately identify.

In spite of the fact that K/DA has the ability to dominate any musical style, their individual compositions have always tended to lean more toward the pop or hip-hop end of the spectrum. Fans can find other inconsistencies in this release besides this one, though. This year’s League World Champions was hosted in Seoul, Korea, and many fans had hoped—and still do—to see K/DA return to the stage. This is especially true given that Riot is known to work with local partners to create its esports anthems. However, fans will have to keep requesting more from K/DA because Riot is officially working with Spotify to remove the recently added tune from the band’s discography.
