The primary antagonist, Rashta, reappears, pregnant and ready to wreak havoc by stabbing her enemies in the back. Beginning with Chapter 154 of Remarried Empress, Rashta will begin to impose her global control. She was rather quiet for a while, but she’s finally acting.
Why does she choose this moment to act? That’s tough to pin down, but one possible meta-reason is to spice things up. For our two protagonists, the pace has slowed considerably in recent chapters. And we’ve had filler arcs when the Navier and her Emperor just hang out in the house, which was still entertaining.

When Navier learns that she can’t have a kid, she may spiral deeper into depression, as depicted in Chapter 153 of The Remarried Empress. The emperor is about to enter the room, and she can’t help but wonder how this will influence her standing with him. But he entered looking downcast, avoiding the empress’s gaze as if he had something to hide.
As the chapters progress, he fills her in on the current state of affairs. Furthermore, Rashita’s activities will make not just their life, but their entire miserable if her plans go into effect. There are spies in Rashida’s ranks who report back to her on what they’re up to, but they’re no good.
Rashida has begun making indirect attacks against Navier. The antagonist’s plan was to kill the Empress’s parents and bring her to a state of hopelessness. Her team was able to save the day because of the extensive informational network at their disposal. However, we find out that Rashita has more in store for our heroine.
What this prologue means for the rest of the narrative and for our key characters will become clear in Remarried Empress Chapter 154. The plot thus far has centered on Navier maintaining her honor and claiming her position as empress. Because she had finally found her position in the Western kingdom with its emperor, she was able to see through it.
The Western Empire’s Emperor has been similarly respectful of her dignity and emotional need to the very end. But Navier isn’t just anyone; she’s proud and the kind of person who’d like to share the joy she’s had. And she does it all by herself, tending to her own personal issues.
