Chapter 13 of Records of the Demonic Path’s Return reminded us of the series’ strengths. The majority of the manhwa’s feature drawn-out set-up arcs and focus excessively on completing procedural tasks. Not so with this series. The first 10 chapters or so have already established that the manhwa would be following its own set of rules.
Speaking of which, a lot of stuff happened in the previous chapter. A lot. The quality of the last chapter was excellent, but it also provided a wealth of background information. We learned about the current global issues that precipitated the girl’s auction.
And as MC remembers later, the girl is someone who would be crucial in the years to come. MC was able to speak with the wise man, who made him an offer he couldn’t refuse. The man, however, wished to evaluate the bou’s skills. The wise man admired MC’s level of maturity.
The sister in question will undergo brainwashing and eventually become a fully functional member of the clan, participating in operations and performing other duties. If MC succeeds in winning over that girl, she and the other female will trust him completely.
These two young ladies have the makings of formidable assassins. This is great news for MC and his sub-clan, since they can now count on the assistance of more skilled fighters. The protagonist will do everything it takes to save the girl, and we might even see him fight for the first time in the series.
