Free stuff is always nice, and some Overwatch 2 players today discovered a way to get some thanks to what has since been identified as a bug. In a tweet on June 8, Overwatch 2’s game director Aaron Keller acknowledged that some players had already obtained free skins that Blizzard had planned to distribute as part of the celebration of this year’s Summer Games.

Keller added that the bug had been fixed and that players who had unlocked the skins would be able to keep them. If you need more information about Players who can get free skins in Overwatch 2 due to a bug before the Summer Games, then read carefully, and don’t forget to share with your friends.

Players can get free skins in Overwatch 2 due to a bug before the Summer Games:

“Two skins planned to be given away during Season 5 to celebrate Summer Games were accidentally enabled for a short period today,” he said. “We’ve since fixed the issue. Log in later in Season 5 to claim these skins… and if you were able to do it earlier… congratulations!”

The skins weren’t brand-new to the gallery, which was unfortunate for the lucky few who managed to unlock them. Sprinter Tracer and Sprinkles Mei were both participants in previous Summer Games events, but as of right now, neither can be unlocked using credits or OW coins. This is probably because they will be available for free to all players in about a month or two.

The issue only affects players who brought Lucio’s Winter Wonderland skin with them when switching from Overwatch to Overwatch 2. On the plus side, the skin is no longer for sale. However, given that players are describing comparable problems with other skins, such as Rein’s hammer, it may be something to keep in mind if you intend to join the action soon.

The Summer Games event is scheduled to occur in season five of Overwatch, which launches on Tuesday, June 13. This information was included in the Overwatch roadmap that Blizzard released in mid-May. Players who don’t already have these skins will be able to unlock them for free before mid-August because seasons last for two months.

The event has traditionally started in the first or second week of August, but no earlier than mid-July. The Summer games should begin towards the end of July and last until closing to the end of season five, given all the seasonal changes to the game brought about by the switch to OW2.
