Several months ago PUBG Mobile hosted the PUBG Mobile Pro League (PMPL) spring split 2022 in Pakistan, but the prize pool of the tournament was not paid by the officials. PMPL spring split happened from March to April 2022, and one of the top teams from this tournament, i8 Esports, provided a post on their Instagram handle and share the situation with the public. It was PMPL Pakistan’s Inauguration season and 24 teams from across the country compete for the championship and give a prize pool of $100,000. Team i8 Esports won the league stage Round of the tournament and finished third in the region Finals. So I am sharing some information in the article about this.

The prize pool amount is still not received, after six months of tournament ends

PMPL Spring Split Pakistan took place from March 22 to April 17. According to PUBG Mobile’s competition rules, teams must receive their rewards within 90 days of the end of the tournament. However, i8 Esports is accused that even after 180 days, they still haven’t received a single dollar from the side officials. The esports organization also said in their Instagram post that no other teams have received the prize money. The organization says that the organizer of the tournament, Nodwin Gaming, has given them several deadlines to clear their payments, but none of Nodwin officials has even met them. Now, the India-based e-sports company is also not even responding to messages from i8 Esports from Pakistan.

Pakistan’s PUBG Mobile teams were also accused of other issues with receiving payment from officials

In addition to delays in receiving the money, i8 Esports also accused Nodwin Gaming of violating another payment rule. Official rules stipulate that all teams must receive prize money in US dollars. However, according to i8 Esports, they will receive the payment in Pakistani Rupees (PKR), which creates more problems. Nodwin Gaming uses the old conversion rate for money handling. The Pakistani currency rupee is struggling and lost a lot of value over the past year. However, this is not a concern for teams, as the rules state that prizes must be stated in USD. So it should be done with the current exchange rate despite the delay.
