Players will cooperate in three distinct story missions for this game, The Rise of Null Sector. As a result, this appears to be similar to the Overwatch Archive events, which were cooperative PvE missions rather than part of a larger story and were officially canceled by Blizzard last month.

You catch glimpses of Lucio fighting what appears to be a large Omnic boss throughout the brief showcase, and Reinhardt dropping the hammer in a room full of NPC enemies. Players can also experience King’s Row in a new way by participating in a smaller co-op mission to “save Tracer’s friend and the Omnic Underworld from Null Sector forces.”

The Invasion update, which adds two new maps that are the “biggest PvP maps yet,” will also include a new core game mode called Flashpoint. Without a break in between Flashpoints, players will have to battle for and seize three strategic positions on those maps before the adversary.

Hero Mastery challenges are being added as a way to help players truly master their favorite characters or learn new skills through training programs tailored to each hero’s special abilities.

This mode will feature global leaderboards, and it is initially planned to launch with support for a small number of heroes before receiving updates that will add more. With this August 10 launch, a firing range is also getting hot. There was a brief teaser and confirmation of a new Support hero for this update, but no other details were provided.

However, Blizzard has confirmed that Invasion and an exclusive DLC pack will both be released with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. The Overwatch 2 New Heroes Starter Pac includes Sojourn, Junker Queen, Kiriko, Ramattra, Lifeweaver, and the new character along with a Legendary skin for each of them and other in-game cosmetics.
