Fortunately, golden guns returned in Overwatch 2. In order to unlock a golden gun in the first game, players had to play Competitive for a very long time. Golden weapons, along with a variety of other cosmetics like skins and sprays, can be obtained from the Hero Gallery. However, they cannot be bought with real money, the new Overwatch Coins currency, or legacy credits. They can only be acquired by spending Competitive Points, which are only available in, you guessed it, Competitive mode.

You will receive a small number of Competitive Points at the conclusion of each Competitive match you complete. If you win, you’ll make more money, but even if you lose or tie, you’ll still make some. These Competitive Points can then be used to buy each hero a golden gun from the Hero Gallery menu. It takes a lot of time playing the mode to earn the 3,000 Competitive Points needed for one golden gun. (Note that you still have access to all of your saved points if you had Competitive Points left over from the original Overwatch when Overwatch 2 went live.)

  • Open the Hero Gallery and choose your preferred hero once you’ve accumulated the required number of points.
  • Choose the Weapons tab from the list of cosmetics at the bottom of the page. then select Unlock after selecting Golden.
  • After that, you can use any other cosmetic to equip your new golden weapon.

To demonstrate their devotion to others, most players buy a golden gun for their favourite hero, their main, or the hero they play the best. Even more changes can be made by some heroes’ golden guns; for instance, purchasing Ashe’s golden gun turns B.O.B. solid gold. It takes a long time, but getting a golden gun isn’t necessarily difficult. Cheers, heroes!
