He thinks back to what Piero had said about the small number of farmers they sponsored and wonders if he managed to raise the workforce by himself.
The renowned farming talents of Piero are simply astounding, in Hurent’s opinion. But he also learns that the farmer has a lot of children and starts to wonder if he has used any of them in his shaping. No matter how much of a farmer he is, in his opinion, using children is excessive.
He feels he must issue a warning because, as a father, he simply cannot accept this. A little while later, the children of the farmer began abusing him, accusing him of being a traitor for having invaded the land of their Lord Grid and claiming that he would force Grid to leave.
