A thrilling new trailer for the Hollywood live-action version of the cherished One Piece manga by Eiichiro Oda was unveiled during the much-awaited One Piece Day 2023 livestream event on Saturday. At the occasion, Mayumi Tanaka, the well-known voice of Luffy, read an emotional remark about the live-action series that was made by Oda himself. Eiichiro Oda, the visionary mastermind behind One Piece, is not only serving as an executive producer but has also emphasized that the series will not launch until he is entirely “satisfied” with its production. The series, originally reported to comprise of 10 episodes, will now consist of eight meticulously crafted episodes.

Fans of the Japanese anime need not fret, as the Japanese voice actors for Luffy, Zoro, Nami, Usopp, and Sanji will reprise their roles in the Japanese dub of the live-action series. Additionally, Inaki Godoy and Taz Skylar will lend their voices to Luffy and Sanji in the Spanish dub, adding to the show’s international appeal.
The thrilling live-action series will be exclusively available for streaming on Netflix, allowing fans worldwide to embark on an extraordinary journey with their favorite pirates.
Tomorrow Studios, a dynamic collaboration between renowned producer Marty Adelstein (known for works like Prison Break and Teen Wolf) and ITV Studios, is bringing this grand vision to life. Spearheaded by the talented writer Matt Owens (notable for his contributions to Luke Cage and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.), the show promises an engaging narrative that captures the heart of One Piece. Back in 2017, Marty Adelstein revealed in a video message at Jump Festa that the live-action Hollywood series would commence with the beloved East Blue arc and subsequently expand its horizons.
