One Piece Chapter 1054 is going to come out soon and the theories surrounding it are just getting more intense. One theory that has stayed with the audience is that there will be 13 strawhats, majorly corresponding to the 13 Chinese Zodiac signs. The first major clue supporting this theory comes from Oda’s drawing of the colour spread from Chapter 651. This theory came out 8 months back when people started assuming who will the strawhats correspond to in the Chinese Zodiac signs. Fans on Reddit were just furious with this theory as one Redditor commented “A lot of people don’t realize that many people just make theories and correlations like these for fun. No one is touting it as fact or flawless. Its just for fun, it’s just kinda of weird when people feel the need to deconstruct someone’s fun.
“It’s just a “dumb but fun” theory. Also I believe that the Cat is in fact the 13th Zodiac animal in the mythology and is sometimes interchangeable with the Rabbit.”
Now, with the introduction of a new character, the theory is beginning to make sense, fans have curated the list for all the strawhats so far, and this makes a lot of sence.
Luffy monkey = monkey
Zoro tiger = tiger
Nami cat = cat (often consider the 13th member of the 12 Zodiac)
Usopp chameleon = snake? (both are the only reptile)
Sanji goat = goat
Chopper red panda = rat? (similar in appearance and being the smallest member)
Robin falcon = rooster (birds)
Franky rhino = bull? (Rhino in Chinese is ” 犀牛” with “牛” literally means bull/cow. Also prior to the color spread Oda had already assigned animals to the Straw Hats in the SBS, with most of them differ from the color spread actually. Franky was assigned “bull” there)
Brook giraffe = horse? (same thing with Franky, he was assigned “horse” in the SBS question)
Now we are only left with rabbit, dragon, dog, and boar.
One Piece is one of the most popular manga series, and fans are eagerly awaiting the release of the next chapter. Having said that, One Piece Chapter 1054 will be released in Japan on July 24, 2022.
