In the last 6 years, Nintendo has hosted a Direct stream in September. The coronavirus pandemic pushed it to change its approach in 2020, yet fanatics got a Mini-Direct that year.

As many would remember that the September Direct in 2021 introduced some heavy hitters. For instance, Kirby and the Forgotten Land took the center stage for the first time during this showcase.

Even Bayonetta 3 gameplay, Splatoon 3 footage, and the final DLC fighter for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate were showcased at 2021’s digital event. Since Nintendo’s early 2023 plans are still behind curtains, people are still hoping that another major September stream will give some clarity about the future plans.
