The Hashira are the Demon Slayer Corps’ most powerful warriors. When things get out of hand, they’re supposed to lead their fellow Demon Slayers in annihilating any demons in their path. They are the last line of defense against Muzan Kibutsuji’s evil horde’s most powerful demons. As a result, each Hashira has a distinct fighting and breathing style that distinguishes them as the most skilled fighters.

They are led by Kagaya Ubuyashiki, who admits only the strongest to the Corps. The Hashira are always looking for a successor to pass on their techniques to after they die or retire. This tradition is upheld so that the Corps continues to gain stronger fighters over time. To become a Hashira, one must defeat one of the Twelve Kizuki or fifty demons while undergoing intensive training that would take an average person five years. We evaluated their strength, durability, perseverance, and accomplishments from Demon Slayer anime and manga to rank them according to their fighting abilities.

9. Shinobu Kocho (Insect Hashira)

Shinobu Kocho (image: Twitter/@knyesta)

The bug Hashira of the corps of demon slayers is Shinobu Kocho. She is extremely strong for a Hashira, yet we only rank her last since she can’t decapitate a demon. It is physically impossible for her to cut off a demon’s head. She employs poison to make up for her physical limitations. She kills demons by piercing them with her wisteria venom. Sadly, the most powerful demons are immune to that. We considered their power, durability, tenacity, and achievements from the anime and manga to rank them according to their fighting prowess.

Among all the Hashiras, she also has the fastest thrusting speed. During her combat with upper moon two Doma, Shinobu showed that she was one of the hashiras who could move the fastest. Even Doma was unable to anticipate or thwart her onslaught due to how quickly she struck. She is the fastest hashira that Doma has ever seen, and according to him, if Shinobu had attempted to have his head severed, she might have succeeded. But, due to her small stature, she is unable to do so.

Shinobu ultimately gave herself up in order to assassinate Doma. She was extremely important in the victory over Muzan since Lady Tamayo’s creation of the medications for Muzan was made possible thanks to Shinobu.

8. Tengen Uzui (Sound Hasira)

Tengen Uzui (image: Twitter/@WHCDaily)

Tengen Uzui is the demon slayer corps’s sound Hashira. He is extremely showy, quick, and powerful. He is incredibly talented and was once a shinobi. He is physically the second-strongest hashira behind Gyomie, in contrast to Shinobu. Among all the hashiras, Tengen runs with the fastest speed. His battle with Daki and Gyutaro from upper moon six gave us a glimpse of his abilities. He decapitated daki twice without her even understanding. He fought side by side with Gyutaro and repeatedly spared Tanjiro’s life.

Tengen, the first hashira to defeat an upper moon in the previous 100 years, was able to hold his own against upper moon 6 thanks to his incredible skills. He is ranked lower than the other top hashira because, despite receiving a lot of assistance from others, he struggled to overcome the upper moon who was the weakest. This struggle cost Tengen an eye and an arm as well. He is the eighth-ranked hashira in the demon slayer series as a result.

7. Mitsuri Kanroji (Love Hashira)

Mitsuri Kanroji (image: Twitter/@PSetbun)

The demon slayer corps’s love hashira is Mitsuri Kanroji. This adorable anime girl with pink hair adores everyone and everything. She doesn’t initially appear to be the combative type, yet she is really powerful. According to reports, Mitsuri finished the final selection after only six months of preparation. In all demon slayer corps, she is the strongest female demon slayer. Mitsuri is physically comparable to Rengoku, Giyu, and Sanemi because of her flexible body and eight times denser muscles than average humans.

The speed of Mitsuri’s techniques surpasses that of Tengen Uzui. When she battles upper moon 4 Hentangu in the Swordsmith village arc, she makes her fighting debut. She not only put up a solid battle against him, but she also held off his most powerful blows. During the battle, Mitsuri activated her demon slayer mark and held “zohakuten” Hentangu’s strongest clone by herself until Tanjiro severed his true body from his head. She was the first pillar to directly hit Muzan in the series’ climactic fight, which we saw in action in later episodes. She was performing well at first, but Muzan’s speed proved to be too much for her, and Iguro had to save her in that battle. She demonstrated her incredible physical strength by ripping off Muzan’s arms with her bare hands toward the conclusion of the battle. Yet as a result of massive blood loss, she also lost both of her hands and eventually passed away. Unquestionably, Mitsuri ranks as the seventh-strongest hashira in the demon slayer corps.

6. Kyojuro Rengoku (Flame Hashira)

Kyojuro Rengoku (image: Twitter/@AutumnTay)

The pillar of flame, one of the most revered hashiras in the corps is Kyojuro Rengoku. He has a strong sense of justice and will stop at nothing to defend those he cares about. Once he vanquished lower moon two Hairo, Rengoku transformed into Hashira. He demonstrated this in the Mugen Train arc when he chose to spare people’s lives rather than the lower moon’s. Instead of going himself since he knew Tanjiro and Inosuke wouldn’t be able to guard all the passengers, Rengoku instructed them to kill the lower moon one.

Later he engaged in his illustrious fight with Uppermoon 3 Akaza. Despite being aware of upper moon 3’s strength, he nevertheless gave it his all, holding Akaza till dawn and coming dangerously close to beheading him. Everyone there would have been killed absent Kyojuro. Rengoku sacrificed his own life in order to save the main trio and all 200 passengers. Although Rengoku is a truly formidable hashira, there are many other hashiras that are even more remarkable and powerful. As the strongest hashira in demon slayer, we rank him sixth for that reason.

5. Giyu Tomioka (Water Hashira)

Giyu Tomioka (image: Twitter/@Anime)

The first hashira we encountered in the series was Giyu Tomioka, a water pillar. He has a laid-back demeanor and avoids social situations. Nezuko and Tanjiro were given a chance by Giyu. He is, in essence, the reason the demon slayer series is what it is. The first time we saw him in action was when, after killing the demon father during the Mount Nagasumo arc, he saved Inosuke. Then Giyu effortlessly dispatched lower moon five Rui to save Tanjiro.

Afterward, Giyu defeated upper moon 3 Akaza and displayed his true fighting prowess. Where he and Tanjiro were battling Uppermoon 3 together, but when his mark emerged, he battled Akaza by himself for a considerable period of time, giving Tanjiro time to strategize, and they both succeeded in taking down Uppermoon 3. After that, he assisted others in the conflict with Muzan. He occasionally lost consciousness and his hold on the sword due to exhaustion and required assistance from others to survive. Giyu also misplaced one of his hands in the melee. But he was one of the two hashira who survived the decisive combat at the end of the series. He is deserving of the fifth-strongest hashira ranking in demon slayer.

4. Obanai Iguro (Serpent Hashira)

Obanai Iguro (image: Twitter/@ObanaiPics)

The serpent hashira of the Corps of Demon Slayers is Obanai Iguro. He is an extremely strict and vindictive individual. Apart from master Ubuyashiki and Mitsuri Kanaroji, he has no concern for anyone. He hates women to the depths of his being because of his prior experiences with demons. Only Mitsuri Kanaroji stands out. He just likes her, and no other lady. Iguro is also exceedingly harsh; for instance, when he learns that Tengen vanquished upper moon six, instead of expressing gratitude, he laments the loss of his arm and eye to the weakest upper moon.

Iguro initially showed off his might in Infinity Castle as he simultaneously dispatched tens of lesser moon-level demons. Then, when he faced Muzan, we witnessed his true talent. He was the first to reach Muzan’s neck with his blade, but Muzan was unaffected. Iguro and Tanjiro were the only ones left fighting Muzan after Muzan had knocked everyone else to the ground. Tanjiro was repeatedly saved by Obanai throughout the battle. He battled Muzan even after losing his sight.

Giyu and Obanai Iguro are probably of equal power. However, in some instances, obanai surpasses Giyu as the most powerful hashira. Iguro was one of only three hashiras to access the transparent world, the other two being Gyomie and Muichiro, aside from his performance against Muzan. In addition, Iguro is the only person except for Muichiro who can naturally turn his sword red with just his grip and willpower. whereas Giyu required Sanemi’s assistance to make his blade red. Hence, these accomplishments are sufficient to rank him as the fourth-strongest hashiras in the demon slayer corps.

3. Muichiro Tokito (Mist Hashira)

Muichiro Tokito (image: Twitter/@Moskeetees)

The Mist hashira and youngest demon slayer corps member, Muichiro Tokito is just 14 years old. He initially came across as quiet and isolated in his own world. Since he became hashira in just two months after picking up a sword, Muichiro is the most gifted member of the demon slayer corps. He allegedly possessed the potential to outclass every demon slayer who had ever lived. When he was practicing with the yoriichi doll during the swordsmith village arc, we first witnessed his talent. Tanjiro was astounded by the youngster’s abilities. Afterward, as Tanjiro and Uppermoon 4 were engaged in combat, we watched him kill the latter without wasting any time.

Muichiro later engages in combat with Upper Moon 5, where he awakens his demon slayer mark, becoming the first person except Taniro to do so. Muichiro initially struggled to overcome upper moon 5, but after waking his mark, the battle was all but over. He easily dispatched the strongest iteration of the upper moon 5, becoming the first hashira to slay an upper rank alone.

Afterward, when he was fighting Uppermoon One Kokushibo, we witnessed him trying to attack Kokushibo but failing miserably due to the latter’s superior strength. Muichiro was held against a wall and had his hand easily severed by Kokushibo. After he managed to release himself from the wall, he returned to the battle with Sanemi and Gyomie against Koushibo. Muichiro unlocked the transparent world during the battle, which enabled him to evade Kokushibo’s strike.

Tokito, who already knew he was going to die, used all of his might to stab Koushibo, turning his blade red in the process. This caused Koushibo to vanish from the scene, and he was the first person except Yoriichi to make his blade red naturally. Gyomie, one of the strongest hashira, claimed that muichiro was the reason they prevailed in that conflict. Considering these incredible accomplishments, he is deserving of third place as the strongest hashira in demon slayer.

2. Sanemi Shinazugawa (Wind Hashira)

Sanemi Shinazugawa (image: Twitter/@Erislov3)

Sanemi Shinazugawa is the demon slayer corps’ second-strongest hashira and the wind hashira. He possesses superhuman strength, speed, endurance, and skill. The demon slayer corps’ most dreaded hashira is Shinazugawa. Sanemi’s battle with Kokushibo served as a display of his power and expertise. Sanemi battled rather well, whereas Muichiro and Genya couldn’t even stand up to Kokushibo. In order to force Koushibo to draw his sword, he held himself up. Throughout that battle, Sanemi’s flexibility and range of motion were outstanding. He managed to fight kokushibo despite suffering severe injuries until Gyomei showed up. Even Koushibo was astonished by his stamina.

He improved his speed and agility after unlocking his mark, which allowed him to defeat Kokushibo. After defeating Kokushibo, he traveled to Muzan, where he also displayed his incredible talent and distinct fighting style. Sanemi burned Muzan in addition to sawing him in half. He is one of the few that caused Muzan the most harm. Sanemi is also one of the very few hashiras whose blade became red throughout the conflict. Together with his skills, he also possesses marichi blood, which briefly impairs Koushibo. He not only made it through the insane conflict, but he also had the least amount of physical harm. Only two fingers were lost to him throughout the entire conflict. He is certainly the second-strongest hashira in demon slayer as a result of these many accomplishments.

1. Gyomei Himejima (Stone Hashira)

Gyomei Himejima (image: Twitter/@Ryuk478)

The current stone pillar and the most powerful hashira in the demon slayer corps are Gyomie Himejima. Inosuke and Murata described him as the strongest hashira. Except for master Ubuyashiki, Gyomie is a member of the demon slayer corps who is most revered. Everyone feels secure and at ease whenever Gyomie enters a fight. He is also incredibly sensitive and sheds tears at the little things. Gyomie is the hashira who is physically the strongest. Gyomie’s battle against Kokushibo allowed us to witness his strength and talent. He was overpowering Kokushibo when the struggle between them began. Before his mark showed up, Kokushibo said that he was the toughest warrior he had seen in the previous 300 years.

Gyomie gave Kokushibo a decent fight in addition to holding him on his own. Moreover, he was the first Hashira to open Transparent World. Despite being blind, he was still able to sense the transparent environment. In addition to being able to endure Koushibo’s speed, Gyomie was also able to avoid his attack and deal the greatest damage. In the end, he was successful in defeating Koushibo the Uppermoon 1 with the aid of Muichiro, Samemi, and Genya. Gyomie was also the only person to escape that combat unscathed. He engaged in combat with Muzan again following that encounter, and his victory over Muzan was crucial. He lost a leg in the battle with Muzan. After the struggle, his mark caused him to pass away. The strongest hashira in the demon slayer corps, however, is Gyomie.
