The chapter starts with the Todoroki family all together. Rei has serious burns on her face, Fuyumi has a few burns, Natsu has a new haircut and Enji is all bandaged up. Fuyumi tells Shoto he didn’t have to come, but Shoto says he’s there to fulfill his mission, and the rest of the family feels the same way. Enji says he had planned to talk to Toya before the war but now he can’t move on his own. He says that “the hero Endeavor burned to death.”
Toya responds sarcastically, calling Enji a coward. Enji agrees, saying Toya knows him well since he’s been watching him all this time. Flashbacks of Toya are shown, and Enji thinks about how his son’s flames come from his own Hellflame. He tells Toya he wants to talk to him every day from now on. As they speak, the sound of Toya’s heartbeat monitor is heard. Enji, Fuyumi and Rei all say they want to talk to Toya, but the facility employee says they should stop for the day to avoid burdening his heart. Shoto asks Toya his favorite food, and after a pause, Toya answers “soba.” Shoto says “same,” which makes Toya cry and he apologizes to Shoto.
