Witches can drop potions, zombies can drop iron, copper ingots, among other items. This is the reason, mob farms are often constructed.
To do so, a mob farm should be completely encased. Hostile mobs are unable to spawn in light, so it is good to have absolutely no light. It can be as wide as players wish, though five or six blocks should be enough.

Players should have a row of water source blocks on one side of the farm. The farm should be longer than 8 blocks as water won’t flow that far. This will make the mobs will flow to the end and be put onto harmful blocks.
Players should have some sort of killing mechanism at the end of the water. This can be done using magma cubes, campfires, or other harmful Minecraft blocks. The next move is to pick up the loot. The key to an AFK farm is a hopper and chests.
It allows Minecraft players to come in and walk a distance to get to the chests. It’s a challenging part to not let the light get in while also having a way to get in and get the loot. The best way to do this is by using a dark oak door, which doesn’t allow the light to get in.
