We hear this explanation in August, during the “preparation period” of an earlier Rakuzaichi Auction Event. When Hakuri walks into the facility, she sees a female hostage dubbed Girl With Icy Skin (GWIS) who is starving.

Because GWIS is afraid no one would buy her food, she is refusing to consume it. Because she is important goods for the Rakuzaichi Auction Event, Hakuri threatens to make her eat. GWIS would prefer to dine with others if that’s so. Because of her icy abilities, Hakuri forbids her to enjoy the luxury. GWIS expresses a desire for Hakuri to converse with her as she dines.
Hakuri tells her he’ll talk about his finger wound after accepting. He claims Soya hurt him for fun. In a touching gesture, GWIS requests Hakuri’s hand. Since they are both rejected, GWIS fixes it and advises they leave the warehouse together. Still, Hakuri turns down GWIS’s offer since he thinks she’s only playing him. GWIS agrees with Hakuri’s suspicions and chuckles.
But GWIS claims to feel sorry for Hakuri and offers to show him the world. Hakuri informs GWIS that they are just not friends. Additionally, Hakuri aspires to prove to his family that he is useful by accomplishing this assignment. Time goes by. GWIS notices that Hakuri’s abuse is becoming worse.
GWIS provides Hakuri with inspiring words of wisdom to help him rise. The day for the relocation of GWIS’s warehouse does come. If GWIS would want to dine and converse outside, Hakuri offers to accompany her. Then we quickly go back to the here and now. Using his sorcery powers, Soya casts Hakuri against a wall while also belittling him. After that, we’ll go back in time with GWIS and Hakuri.
