In last month’s dedicated State of Play, WB Games Avalanche gave us our first look at Hogwarts Legacy. The 14-minute PS5 gameplay showcased the game’s central mechanics, the castle in all its glory, the world beyond the walls, and the villains involved. Fans are understandably excited about the title and are looking forward to a release date and the option to pre-order it.
Hogwarts Legacy is being developed by Avalanche Software under the Warner Bros. Games banner. During this year’s holiday season, the March State of Play announced the release date.
The game will also be available on a variety of platforms, including the PlayStation5, PlayStation4, PlayStation4 Pro, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One consoles, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
Several retailers have listed physical copies of the game for sale since the game’s reveal in March. Every purchaser of the upcoming Wizarding RPG will also receive a gift card from online retailer Best Buy. Pre-ordering the title from the Best Buy website is the only way to take advantage of the Best Buy offer.

Many people have expressed concern after looking through the pre-order listings that there is no mention of a next-gen upgrade option, either free or for a small fee, like the one in Horizon Forbidden West.

Given that many players are still looking for a next-generation console, one would hope that Hogwarts Legacy will include this option as the release date approaches.
