While you can’t summon Marines to you directly, you can call them in secret when they’re close by. If you’re walking and see a Marine you’d like to join you, simply press the ping button next to them. This will pique their interest, and the circle above them should begin to pulse. Need a gunner or just want to load up a Razorback with Marines for a mission? Make a horn horn horn horn horn horn horn horn If you get too close, they’ll start climbing in. However, if they’re standing in front of your vehicle, honking at them won’t get them to move. If you don’t have a horn on your vehicle, you can ping instead, and they should react. Marines do not drive cars on their own, so don’t expect to see one driving about in a Warthog with other Marines.

If you get too far away from the Marines, they’ll vanish. They will, however, do their best to keep up with you. You may simply return to a FOB or a place where you know Marines spawn and summon them over to you if you want some company in the open world.

Marines, on the other hand, can’t follow you around everywhere. This covers important campaign tasks, tunnels (they don’t seem to like travelling underground), and a few structures. They’ll let you know they’re sticking behind and will be waiting for you where you left them.
