Recap and Review

D and his team pull off a major ruse to recover the key they had misplaced at the beginning of the episode. The plan was spot-on, and it brought D and his impromptu squad—which is far from devoid of losers—closer together. While D insists he doesn’t care about anyone but himself, he’s making acquaintances among humans at a steady clip. I also have no doubt that his view of humanity is evolving, much like how some people continue to accept D despite learning his true character.

Even the second human to learn that D is a foot soldier, Koguma, is on board with the plan. Contrarily, he is prepared to view D as an ally and has even gone so far as to say that he will follow D and embrace him unconditionally. Even if he didn’t do anything to quiet Koguma, D clearly reminds himself and others that he just views them as stepping stones. Unpredictable plot surprises abound in this episode as well.

It was great to see more characters like Kai who are speaking out against the baddies and the Ranger organization. Now we know that some Rangers despise the association’s corruption and are prepared to play the villain to rid it of immoral members. Nobody expected the boss villain, who is the most villainous enemy imaginable, to survive, though.
