Game publisher Epic Games has announced that the Fortnite Collegiate Cup will take place in January 2023. The tournament, open to students in the United States and Canada, will offer a total prize pool of $50,000 (⁓ £40,800).The college students will compete in Fortnite’s Solo Battle Royale mode in two rounds. The first round will begin on January 26 and the top 100 players will face off on January 31. In addition, Epic Games has also revealed that it will provide more opportunities through competitive scrimmage throughout the spring semester; third party tournaments; and competitions organized by the school.The Fortnite Collage Cup was created in collaboration with the College Carball Association (CCA) and eSports platform eFuse, which is expected to return as the main sponsor of the event. Due to a deal struck earlier this year, entertainment platform Fandom has been granted exclusive ad sales rights for eFuse’s collegiate events: Collegiate Call of Duty League (CCL), College Carball Association (CCA), as well as Collegiate Fortnite.

In addition, Epic Games recently revealed what Fortnite’s competitive season will look like for the next few months, as the game enters a new chapter.Tournaments like the FNCS Online competition will continue as usual, along with the Fortnite Divisional Cup weekly offerings, ahead of some new launches. Competitive Fortnite will also launch completely new offerings like the Victory Cup, Fill Cup and Zero Build Cup – this list of innovations includes the Collegiate Cup.
