It has been years since playing FIFA on a PC has become a less enjoyable experience in contrast to playing the same game on a console. After steady crash complaints, lack of features, and hackers causing havoc in the game, players will finally get a pleasant experience playing on PC once FIFA 23 hits the store, all thanks to EA’s new anti-cheat feature.

How does anti-cheat work on FIFA 23?

The EA AntiCheat (EAAC) will be deployed to take care of external files and software from being fused into the game’s settings. It also means that software modifications or community mods won’t be able to make their way to the upcoming game.

In an EA blog post on September 13, Sr. Director, Game Security & Anti-Cheat developer Elise Murphy wrote about EA’s new commitments to offer a safe and fair experience for all FIFA players across all platforms.

To keep hackers at bay on PC platform, the game publisher has announced they’ll be releasing the new EA AntiCheat (EAAC), which will arrive alongside the launch of FIFA 23.

The new functionality has been brought in due to several high-profile incidents of accounts being hacked and coins stolen in FIFA 22.

The anti-cheat will get activated automatically once players launch FIFA 23 for the first time, and will automatically get deactivated once the game has been quit. For people who happen to uninstall FIFA 23, EAAC will be automatically uninstalled as well, unless there’s another game on their PC that is in need of the system.

Players will only be able to play FIFA 23 offline as long as the anti-cheat is installed on their PC. As per EA, developers tamper with single player files in order to build cheat codes. By preventing single players’ modes, it will be easier for the company to protecting online modes as well.

As of now, players have been positive about EA’s anti-cheat announcement, with some claiming that the new anti-cheat system was “greatly needed.” However, only time will tell if the new feature lives up to its name.
