Fortnite players usually launch the game using the Epic Games launcher and at times the launcher runs into multiple problems. The Epic Games launcher takes up some RAM and CPU usage as Fortnite runs, making the experience a bit laggy at times. Well, no battle royale game player likes to see frame drops during an intense battle that can be avoided if the launcher isn’t running in the background.
Here are some easy ways to run Fortnite without Epic Games launcher running in the background.
1. The first method is to go into the core data file where the game is installed and make an application shortcut on the desktop. Players can reach this file through Program Files\Epic Games\Fortnite\FortniteGame\Binaries\Win64 or 32.
Players can look for a file called ‘FortniteClient-Win64-Shipping.exe’ inside and they’ll have to create a shortcut on the desktop for the application. The game can now be launched using this shortcut without the need for the Epic Games launcher.

2. Another method is to uninstall the launcher altogether and launch the game from the application source. However, this method could be problematic as players won’t be able to receive in-game updates without the launcher. With the necessary updates, players won’t be able to play the game for a long time and it will stop within weeks.
3. The fastest way is to open Fortnite from the Epic Games launcher once and then press the ‘Start’ button. The game will be minimized and players will be able to close the Epic Games launcher. Now, players can right-click the Fortnite logo and click on “Pin to Taskbar.” After this process, players can start Fortnite from the taskbar and there will be no need for the Epic Games launcher.
