Elden Ring’s Hidetaka Miyazaki Makes it to Top 100 Most Influential People list

Time Magazine has named Hidetaka Miyazaki, known for Elden Ring game, as one of the top 100 people.

Time Magazine has announced the list of the world’s most influential people of 2023. The magazine named Hidetaka Miyazaki, known for Elden Ring game, as one of the top 100 people. The aim of the list is to honor 100 people who have changed the world.

Miyazaki and author George R.R. Martin (Game of Thrones) joined forces in creating the popular game Elden Ring’s world. Apart from Elden Ring, Miyazaki has directed multiple games at FromSoftware, including Dark Souls, Bloodborne, Dark Souls III, and Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice.

Elden Ring breaking multiple records

FromSoftware launched Elden Ring for PlayStation 5, PS4, Xbox One, Series X|S, and PC via steam in February 2022. The game quickly garnered a huge player base and managed to to surpass 12 million units in sales worldwide in March 2022. The game also overtook Call of Duty: Vanguard as the best-selling title in the US in the last 12 months  ending in April 2022.

Elden Ring wond the Game of the Year award at DICE Awards, The Game Awards, and The Golden Joystick Awards. The game also managed to grab a Grand Award at the PlayStation Partner Awards in December.

How many people play Elden Ring?

Elden Ring has become one of most popular games, but how many players are actually playing the game? From Software’s latest title has made ripples among both die-hard Souls fans and first-time players. Elden Ring has received some rave reviews.

Well, there is no perfect way of knowing how many people are playing a game across all platforms. However, Steam Charts provide accurate figures for the number of Steam players. As per Steam Charts, as of June 7, 2022, Elden Ring averaged 77,048 players on PC. Although, the player base hit the 952,523 mark in March.

Well, these numbers only show the players that are playing the game on PC and do not show the number of players enjoying the game on the console. FromSoftware is yet to reveal exact sales of the game, but some data available offers some insights.

As per the stats from Bandai Namco, the game sold 13.4 million copies as of March 31, outshining Cyberpunk 2077. According to stats from GamesIndustry.biz, we also know that 41% of the copies were purchased on PlayStation, 29% were on Xbox, and 30% were bought on PC.
