As the Major drew nearer, Epulze & 4D Esports, the tournament’s organisers, made the decision to reveal the group rounds via a live group stage draw. The upcoming Lima Major in Peru will provide new rosters and organisations with the opportunity to put their skills to the test against some of the finest teams in the world as the first Major of the 2023 Dota Pro Circuit season gets underway. The tournament’s organisers have announced that a live stream will be done to demonstrate how the 18 teams are divided into two groups as the Major draws near and the teams begin to travel to Peru for the upcoming Major. Many viewers have high hopes and expectations for both the tournament organisers to provide a high-quality first Major for the South American (SA) region as well as the first Major of the 2023 season, despite some viewers’ minor concerns regarding the rather drab production studio set shown on the livestream.
Despite the fact that some of the teams were still en route to Peru at the time of the drawing, teams like the home champions, Beastcoast, commented on the live drawing on YouTube. In the regional DPC leagues, 18 teams were successful in earning a place at the Major. These teams will begin their individual campaigns in the group stage, split into two groups as shown below.

No team was picked as the obvious favourite in Group A, making it appear to be the more evenly matched group of the two. However, Group A is anticipated to offer some excellent Dota 2 matches for the spectators to appreciate given the presence of PSG.LGD, Team Spirit, and Tundra Esports.

At first inspection, Group B appeared to be a straightforward group for Team Liquid in particular because of the team’s dominance in the Western Europe (WEU) league. They will, however, compete fiercely with teams like Team Aster, Shopify Rebellion, and BetBoom Team.

As a result of using a stand-in during the Major, two of the 18 teams will lose points. PSG. Li Longwu, an offlane player for LGD, was unable to obtain a visa in time, so Ren “old eLeVeN” Yangwei will be filling in for him at the Major. Artem “Yuragi” Golubiev, OG’s young superstar carry, will support HellRaisers in place of Nikita “Daxak” Kuzmin, who the team infamously split ways with.
