Esports Federation of India (ESFI) hosted a grand send-off ceremony for the Indian contingent participating at the first-ever Commonwealth Esports Championship on Sunday. The inaugural multi-nation esports tournament is organized by Commonwealth Games & Global Esports Federation; scheduled in Birmingham from August 6-7. The members of the DOTA 2 and Rocket League, who will be representing the country at the prestigious event, were present on the occasion alongside Lokesh Suji, Director ESFI & VP- Asian Esports Federation, Satinder Sikri (VP-Haryana Esports Association) and Yash Bhalawala (Gen Sec-Esports Association of Gujrat) at INOX Insignia in Ardee Mall, Gurgaon.
CWG 2022 Esports Championships Schedule for India
India will compete in Dota 2 and Rocket League in the Commonwealth Esports Championships with two top-notch rosters. Both lineups have earned spots in the competition by putting on outstanding performances during the CWG 2022: Commonwealth Esports Championships South Asia Regional Qualifiers.
Indian Dota 2 Team –Moin Ejaz, Ketan Goyal, Abhishek Yadav, Shubhnam Goli, and Vishal Vernekar.
Indian Rocket League Team – Hargun Singh, Sandeep Sahani, and Rushil Reddy
Esports Match Schedule For Commonwealth Games 2022
It will take place at the International Convention Centre (ICC) in Birmingham on August 6-7, 2022.
The Commonwealth Esports Championships will have separate branding, medals, organisation, and governance, led by the Global Esports Federation and its community of partners
Preliminary rounds will start from 3rd Aug – 5th Aug at Nottingham Trent University and Semi-Finals & Finals will happen from 6-7th Aug at ICC, Birmingham
In total 7 countries qualified in DOTA and India has been placed along with England, Wales & Trinidad and Tobago in group A
A total of 8 countries have qualified in Rocket League and India has been placed in Group B along with Canada, England & Wales.
