CS GO: How can players make a jumpthrow bind in the game?

Using the smoke grenade perfectly in CS:GO is something only good players can pull off. It can take a lot of time, practice, and dedication to master this skill. Learning every nook and corner could be tough — but with a jumpthrow bind, things could get really easy.

Jumping and throwing are very important in order to pull off the perfect smokes in several situations. Without jumping, it’s hard to get the distance players want. The problem occurs due to inconsistency. A milisecond of difference in the player’s timing of the jump and releasing the grenade can throw it off-kilter. 

That’s where having a jumpthrow bind becomes crucial. It eliminates the element of inconsistency and makes the most out of every jumpthrow. Players can line up and use their jumpbind numerous times, and it will land in exactly the same position.

How can players make a jumpthrow bind?

In order to create and activate a jumpthrow bind, players are required to set up a config.

To do so, players will have to navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Counter-Strike Global Offensive\csgo\cfg, create a text file with the name autoexec.cfg. Once players have done this, they need to open it, and paste the following text:

• alias “+jumpthrow” “+jump;-attack”
• alias “-jumpthrow” “-jump”
• bind “[V]” +jumpthrow

Now, they need to click on save. Players who don’t want to bind V for their jumpthrow can choose any key as per their preference. Some of the good alternatives are the alt key and mouse buttons four or five.

Once players have saved the text file, they need to right-click on the CS:GO icon in Steam, go to Properties, Set Launch Options, and write +exec autoexec.cfg. This will activate the config every time they fire up the game.
