Plot of Classroom of the Elite novel

Kiyotaka Ayanokoji, the protagonist of Classroom of the Elite, is a shy high school student who avoids interacting with his classmates from Class D. Their school is located in a faraway future where the government has established it to guarantee the prosperity of Japan’s future residents. The pupils at the bottom of the merit ladder end up in Class D. Where their peers can tease them for being unworthy.

Ayanokoji is exceptionally bright but opts not to compete for honors. This explains why he falls into the “dump class” and gets average marks. Many unanswered questions stem from this clandestine intelligence’s foundation in a horrific past. As Ayanokoji develops relationships with two of his classmates, he starts to see things differently about school and his peers.

Read order

If you want to read Classroom of the Elite novel the right way, starting with the main volumes (numbered 1, 2, 3, etc.) is the way to go. Side stories or supplemental content. Such as “special volumes” 4.5 and 7.5, might offer further background or context to the main series.

As a rule of thumb, you should read the main volume first, and then the special volumes. For instance, you should read volumes 4.5 and 7.5 following volumes 7 and 4, respectively.
