The fans are excited for Boy’s Abyss Chapter 154 which is soon going to release. In this scene, Reiji confronts his mother about the abuse he suffered at her hands. She experiences a mental lapse just before she is about to enter oncoming traffic. A car hit her and she has been unconscious ever since. Nagi paid Reiji a visit since she needed to have a conversation with him. They’ve reached a standstill because they want to be together but can’t because of external factors. For the night, they turn in.
To set the scene, Boy’s Abyss follows Kurose Reiji as he makes his way through life in his small, rural community. Numerous traumatic experiences plagued him as a child and young adult. His mother, a nurse who is barely making ends meet, is taking care of his grandmother, who has dementia and requires constant care, his withdrawn older brother, who is prone to violent outbursts, and herself.

Reiji is constantly picking up the pieces in his chaotic family life. Over time, Reiji learns that not everything is as it first appears. It turns out that one of his acquaintances murdered his supposedly abandoned father and kept the whole thing a secret all these years. It turns out that his mother is too controlling, keeping him at home so that she can keep him forever. After finally meeting his favorite Idol, Aoe Nagi, everything shifted for him.
Reiji’s mom came out of her coma right then, and Detective Ishibashi called to tell him the good news. Reiji warns Nagi that the investigator would be stopping by at 9 a.m., and that if he sees them together, they’re in big danger. Nagi expresses interest in meeting his mom and tells him as much. But they knew the detective was on his way, so they hurried to visit her.
Reiji learns from the hospital nurse that his mom opened her eyes this morning. She opened her eyes and took a quick look around before falling back to sleep. The nurse advises him to wait for the doctor’s verdict because her current prognosis is murky. When the nurse leaves, Nagi reaches into her bag and hands Esemori one of her novels. Yuuko is startled out of her slumber by this.
